Tools 4 School Supply Drive!

This summer, in gearing up for the school year, our teammates wanted to make a little extra effort in supporting the back to school efforts of our communities. The Community Food Bank of NJ’s Tools 4 Schools program is a proud member of The Kids in Need Foundation network, a charitable organization founded in 1995 with the mission to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need. Here in NJ we have over 210 schools  in which teachers and students benefit from this program. We were proud to rally as a team and donated over 1000 individual items including pencils, notebooks, crayons, and backpacks. We hope students have a wonderful school year and put to use all of these great supplies!!

Summer Internship Program 2016

2016 BB Metro summer internsBrown & Brown Metro, LLC. is pleased to welcome 4 new interns to our summer internship program, and 2 returning interns to join us for Summer 2016! Connor and Sarah joined us last year and we’re happy to have them contributing to the team again this summer. Additionally, we welcome Andrew, Victoria, Jennifer and Michael to the team for their first year with us.

Our summer internship is focused on exposing up and coming insurance professionals to the insurance brokerage business. Complete with industry specific lunch & learns,  meetings with our carrier partners, and exposure to both the sales and service process within our firm! Throughout the summer, our interns will gain exposure to Commercial Lines, Commercial Marketing, Claims, Employee Benefits, Public Entity and Personal Lines.  This summer, through our Panel of Mentors, seasoned insurance professionals on our team will spend one on one time with each intern providing insight into our operations as well as the industry. By working with our teammates, our interns were able to learn from the ground up how our operations works, and more so what makes us different from other organizations in the industry. We’re looking forward to a great summer working with our new additions!

Summer 2015 Internship Program

Brown & Brown Metro, Inc. is proud to support college students on their track to becoming insurance professionals! This summer we had the pleasure of working with three talented college students who spent 10 weeks rotating through our insurance brokerage! They spent time in Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, Marketing, Employee Benefits and our Public Entity division. By working with our teammates, our interns were able to learn from the ground up how our operations works, and more so what makes us different from other organizations in the industry.

To close our internship program, we took our interns on a trip to our corporate headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida where we met with corporate leaders and interns from across the country. Our interns were educated on the inner workings of our organization, focusing on our dynamic corporate culture and our service offerings while spending time with our Chairman of the Board and Former CEO, Hyatt Brown. What a wonderful trip!

Whether a new teammate joins our team as an intern or full-time employee, we expect the same level of professionalism, determination, and enthusiasm for client services. We’re happy to say we had those traits present in our interns this summer.
